12 Months Gets Results:

Fade-In Paragraph with Bullets

If things at home have escalated to you doing research for professional help, this has likely been a mounting problem for a few years. It’s going to take some time to get out of the woods. Due to the nature of the neurological decompensation of addiction, it can take months for new behaviors to become second nature and produce consistent results. There are many points of transition in the first year of recovery, leading to new obstacles along the way. Slipping back into old behavioral patterns is like staying in bed once the alarm goes off - it's easy to do. Per the CATOR Studies, which followed the outcomes of the strict monitoring programs of medical professionals, the longer a person received some form of clinical support, the more likely they were to remain sober:

Get started:

Our coaching relationship starts with a consultation for us to get a better idea what your family’s needs are and whether or not we’re the best fit. If we decide to work together, we will re-evaluate our contract every 3 months, ensuring that we remain focused and goal oriented.

If your loved one is ambivalent toward addressing their substance use, we will strategize specific steps to facilitate their progress through the stages of change. We will provide educational resources to help you understand your family's situation from a research-based lens. We will teach your family new tools to effectively address the issues at hand, shifting the power dynamic from the addiction behavior to the family's wellbeing. We will continuously assess the family's needs as a whole, and make clinical recommendations as needed.

It's possible that this scenario would be better suited for a formal intervention, which will be discussed during our initial consultation.

Concierge Coaching:

It's never too late to start working together. If your loved one is already in treatment, I can help your family maximize the experience. As an interventionist in the field of addiction and trauma, I know how to vet for quality service, navigate various treatment providers, and establish a comprehensive discharge plan.

Additionally, I help family members to find their voices, process through resentment, address emotional pain, identify their needs upon discharge, and identify and set boundaries with their loved one. Residential treatment provides a delicate window for families to get their own needs met, and yet it's all too common for them to be left out of the treatment process. I’m here to advocate for you and serve as your doula throughout the entire process - pointing out the blind spots and collaborating among the professionals involved.

It's called Concierge Coaching because instead of charging by the hour, which could cumulatively be less cost-effective, there’s a monthly retainer. Throughout the month, we communicate via email, text, and phone, and meet virtually or in person as needed.

Continuing Care:

Once your loved one completes treatment, I’m available to work directly with them, aiding them through the difficult transition back into the community. I’m there to help them continue through the step-down process, from Intensive Outpatient, to outpatient therapy, medication management, and peer recovery spaces. Recovery from Substance Use is most vulnerable within the first 1-2 years of abstinence. During this time, the majority of individuals will return to use. This isn’t a failing of the individual, but a reflection of the lack of preparation and support provided by professionals.
We can improve this number together.

Recovery Coaching is specifically designed to fill those gaps. Whether your loved one is in denial and refusing help, or they’re successfully completing a treatment program, together we will create a 12-month plan that is based on the neurological rewiring and healing that takes place in the first year so that the changes your family makes will last.
